After a mishap in the strange lab of mad scientist Dr. Simon Barsinister, an everyday beagle called Shoeshine finds himself with astonishing powers, and the ability to talk.

Clad in a superhero costume, Underdog undertakes to defend the harassed citizens of Capital City and, in particular, a good-looking spaniel named Polly Purebred. When a devilish plot by Barsinister and his henchman Cad threatens to destroy Capital City, only Underdog can save the day. Based on the original hit animated series Underdog grossed $11,585,121 on its opening weekend.
